NOXT — mobile app
NOXT makes discovering the city personal. The app brings together events, places and social connections, while its recommendation engine adapts the selection to each user’s interests and interactions. The product is in development, starting with Bucharest.

About the project
A city shaped around your interests
NOXT brings event discovery, places and social plans into one experience. Its value comes from connecting these journeys: a relevant recommendation can become a saved event, an intention to attend and an opportunity to bring together people with shared interests.
Adaptive recommendation models
The engine builds affinity models for categories, venues and organisers. Declared preferences are enriched with behavioural signals, including time spent on content, saves, shares and attendance intentions. Negative feedback reduces affinity, while older interactions gradually lose influence. Recommendations can evolve as a user’s interests change.
Relevance, diversity and explanations
Selection combines affinity with content freshness, geographic proximity when available and followed organisers. Diversification limits repeated sources and categories, while an exploration component introduces new options. Recommendation reasons help users understand the selection, and chronological mode provides an alternative way to browse.
Personalisation in practice
When someone frequently saves concerts and expresses an intention to attend music events, affinity for those categories and organisers grows. The feed can prioritise similar activities while retaining space for other city experiences. Hiding an option sends a negative signal, so recommendations also account for what a user prefers to avoid.
Architecture for a fluid experience
The Flutter client uses Drift and SQLite for local data and a durable action queue. A NestJS backend with PostgreSQL and Prisma manages data and recommendation selection. Redis supports feed sessions, while BullMQ separates background processing from API responses. This structure lets the mobile experience and supporting services evolve independently.
In development, starting with Bucharest
Development focuses on refining the mobile experience, recommendation personalisation and organiser tools. Bucharest is the starting point for an urban experience that can expand to other cities. The public landing presents the product direction and pre-launch stage.
